The Road to Your Engineering Career: Application Timeline
Applications Open (November – March
Submit your application online. Get yours in early to stand out from the crowd!
The Assessment Day (End of March – Early April)
Meet the minimum entry requirements? You will be invited to show us your potential in person.
Face-to-Face Interviews (Throughout April)
Sit down with our team so we can learn more about your passion, curiosity, and drive.
The Big Offer (End of April)
Successful candidates will receive official contract offers by the end of the month.
Onboarding & College Kick-off (Mid to End of August)
Complete your on-site orientation in mid-August, then head to college at the end of the month.
A Day in the Life of an Engineering Apprentice
Kickoff & Safety Briefing:
Huddle with your mentor/trainer, review the day’s goals, and double-check your PPE.
Hands-On in the On site - Apprentice Academy :
Dive straight into your trade, whether that is programming a CNC machine, assembling components, or troubleshooting an electrical circuit.
Mid-Morning Fuel Break:
Grab a coffee, catch up with fellow apprentices, and rest your legs.
Back to the Tools:
Continue your practical projects under the close guidance of your dedicated internal trainer.
Lunch On-Site:
Head to the canteen to relax and recharge for the afternoon.
Theory Meets Practice:
Log your progress into your Individual Academy Plan (IAP) or work on a module assignment for college.
Problem-Solving Challenge:
Join your team to inspect equipment, weld a prototype fabric, or run a diagnostic test.
Pack Up & Prep:
Clean down your workspace, secure your tools, and prep your station for another high-energy day tomorrow.

Do I get paid?
Yes! You will earn a competitive salary from day one, including paid time for college and training.
What qualifications do I need?
We value passion and attitude over a long resume. Specific Nat 5 in English and Maths are minimum requirements for the role, so a solid grasp of maths and science helps.
How long does it take?
This is a comprehensive 4-year programme designed to take you from a complete beginner to a fully qualified engineering professional.
Will I get a permanent job?
Our goal is to retain 100% of our talent. If you bring the dedication, we want you here for the long haul.
How much time is spent at college?
You will typically follow a full time first year at college , splitting your time between hands-on workshop learning and classroom theory.

Our assessment day isn’t about tricking you—it’s about finding your potential. Use these insider tips to stand out, make an impression, and secure your spot.
- ^Do Your Homework: Research our company, know our engineering trades, and understand what we build.
- ^Arrive Early: Aim to get there 15 minutes before the start time to settle your nerves and show reliability.
- ^Dress to Impress: Wear smart, clean clothes that show you take the opportunity seriously.
- ^Show Your Passion: Talk enthusiastically about any hands-on hobbies, school projects, or fixing things at home.
- ^Be a Team Player: During group tasks, listen to others, speak clearly, and collaborate rather than competing.
- ^Ask Smart Questions: Prepare two or three questions about the workspace, the team, or the training plan.
- ^Listen to Instructions: Pay close attention to safety rules and task briefs—following directions is a core engineering skill.
